Job Description:

The Qatar Patriot Training Team Interpreter Lead will supervise a team of interpreters performing as required in support of Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) training in Qatar.

The translator will translate Patriot Weapon System concepts and information from English to Qatari Arabic and vice-versa. This position is CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD and will be located in Qatar with initial on-boarding and training located in Lawton, OK
  • Translates English (spoken word) and the thoughts expressed incorporating cultural influences, consulting dictionaries, thesauri, and reference material as needed.
  • Prepares for translation by studying text, Lesson Plans, and Student Guides to be translated.
  • Translate for meetings between US Personnel and Qatari Military Officers (as needed).

  • 6 years? experience translating English to Arabic and vice-versa.
  • Ability to communicate fluently, orally and in writing in Qatari Arabic and English.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (MS PowerPoint and MS Word).
  • Advanced knowledge of cultural standards and customs of the international region to understand colloquialisms and slang words.
  • US citizenship is required this position, and must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Desired Skills:
  • Previous military experience in an Arabic-speaking country
  • Current knowledge of military terminology
  • Platform Instructional techniques

Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor?s degree and 6 years of related experience. Work experience may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
