Job Summary:

The Manager of eLearning is focused on the design, development, and continuous evolution of eLearning content delivered to our associates and ensures that high-quality, innovative, and effective eLearning products are integrated with the broader learning experience design and delivered in a timely fashion to satisfy business needs. This position partners with the business when a training solution is being identified; and once that occurs, this position reviews, revises and approves training that is developed by ILP for the Retail Associates. This position is accountable for the quality and accuracy of all learning products that are built and sent out to the stores.

Scope of Responsibility:

Manages the design and development of instructor-led and eLearning training materials for Kmart and Sears formats as well as 30 BU's at a national level. Produces on a monthly basis over 1k training assets delivered to 200k+ associates in ~3k retail locations.


  • Reviews, revises and approves all training for Sears Home Improvement

  • Identifies Learning solutions for business training needs

  • Performs quality checks on work designed by creative team, designers and other learning team members

  • Assesses resource needs and allocates appropriate individuals to projects, based on complexity; provides senior leaders with recommendations on viable solutions.

  • Serves as consultant and influences decisions around learning products as it relates to learning technology platforms

  • Continuously expands and evolves learning product diversity to ensure that Sears Home Improvement remains at the forefront of learning methods such as scenario-based learning/gaming as appropriate to business needs. In this capacity, researches new industry trends and influence the learning strategy

  • Builds trusted relationships with BU leaders across the organization

  • Performs supervisor functions, including but not limited to, making employment decisions regarding hiring, promoting, demoting and terminating, conducting performance appraisals and coaching and developing associates
