Project Manager – Airborne ISR

Summary of Role:
Raytheon is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to support the Airborne Solutions business, based at Raytheon’s Broughton site. The role is to provide the day to day tactical leadership of the cross functional team to deliver aircraft capability to an agreed time, cost and quality.

Main Duties:
The primary output for the role is the effective delivery of aircraft capability, providing direction and prioritisation of resources to deliver to time, cost and quality.
The successful candidate will support the business via the management of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Performance Indicators (PIs), project metrics, Risk and Opportunities, Optimisation, Earned Value Management (EVM) and budget control.
The Project Manager will ensure that robust contractual and programme baseline control management is adopted to manage change effectively and deliver an appropriate level of business management reporting.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with a broad stakeholder group, including the MoD and the military user in order to provide effective stakeholder management.
Whilst this is not a directly technical role applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability to deal with the engineering element of the work.
The Project Manager should expect to have ownership and accountability for the successful output of the aircraft along with the appropriate authority to execute this work.
A key element of the role is collaborative behaviour and a keen focus on continuous improvement in order to be a catalyst for change.
Executing other delegated tasks as directed by the Programme Manager.
Primarily based at Broughton but travel to other Raytheon UK sites, including Waddington, will be required.

Candidate Requirements:
Demonstrable professional knowledge of working in a Project/Programme Management environment ideally in a fast paced aircraft environment.
Experience of Microsoft Project and other Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Working knowledge of Risk and Opportunity Management Processes.
Ability to support and manage Programme and Technical Managers and their teams.
Ability to multi-task, with good written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the business.
Ability to work with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
Ability to support, guide and influence project teams to ensure programmes are set up and managed in accordance with Raytheon standard practices and processes.
Commercial and business management awareness.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, although not essential with demonstrable relevant experience.
Experience of working with complex aircraft type programmes.
Experience of working within the UK Defence Industry.
Experience and knowledge of EASA Part 145 and Part M regulations.
Working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM).

Personal Characteristics:
A proactive and flexible approach to tasks and an ability to understand their fit into the wider business context.
A team player, whilst able to work independently without close supervision.
This position will require a considerable amount of interaction with a broad stakeholder group at all levels of management, which will require excellent interpersonal skills in order to assert best practice in an environment with competing priorities.
Commercially astute.
