The Munitions Superintendent manages the Site?s Munitions Department. Responsible for the accountability, receipt, inspection, storage, maintenance, security and shipment of U.S. Air Force (USAF) Munitions, Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE) as applicable to the site. Carries out all duties in accordance with DynCorp International ISO 9001 Quality and Safety Standards.
Manages and is responsible for all assigned personnel and equipment of the Munitions Department, ensuring maximum utilization and conservation of resources.
Manages the department according to the applicable sections of AFI 21-201 and Munitions Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Enforces strict adherence to all applicable directives; i.e., technical, safety, security, quality.
Implements timely corrective actions of all discrepancies identified during USAF evaluations.
Advises Site Manager about all munitions issues, to include root causes and solutions of any negative trends in the Department?s performance, and personnel issues.
Develops and manages production efforts, goals and levels according to the PWS.
Manages the site-level Munitions Safety, Training and Quality Control Programs.
Interfaces with host nation senior Munitions management as required.
Closely oversees the Munitions Surveillance and Inspector?s Certification Program, interfacing continuously with the USAF MASO.
Inspects munitions stockpile, facilities, tools, MMHE, support vehicles and equipment to ensure serviceability and determine causes of negative performance trends.
Evaluates technical skills of personnel for conformance to established standards.
Responsible for the accurate completion of AFTO Forms 95, 102 and 244 files, and the Technical Order and Publication Library.
Responsible for Munitions Operations actions/tasks for accountability and inventory, to include use of the Site?s Combat Ammunition System.
Prepares and submits contractual recurring reports to Program Management Office (PMO) on a timely manner.
Responsible for the coordination with deployed senior Munitions Manager and USAF MASO during contingencies for the timely activation of supply points.
Participates in maintenance and inspection activities as the workload dictates.
Interfaces and coordinates with the Munitions Functional Manager in technical matters.
Works necessary hours, to include stand-by duties, to support mission requirements during peacetime and combat contingencies.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/Munitions Ops Manager.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of munitions systems and storage.
Good oral and written communication skills
US Secret Clearance required
Be capable of obtaining a host nation driver?s license.
Experience & Education
Completion of technical training in munitions systems.
Seven years? experience on U.S. DOD explosive operations.
Five years combined supervisory experience in USAF munitions storage and inspection (AFSC 2W0X1) or equivalent and MMHE.
Experienced with Combat Ammunition System (CAS) and accountability standards.
PREFERRED for a Large Site: Prior experience as a Senior Munitions Inspector in accordance with AFI 21-201 (at least 2 yrs experience); proof of prior certification and attendance of formalized USAF Munitions Inspector?s course and award of SEI 83
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting 50 lbs and perform extensive work using handling/lifting equipment.
