The Raytheon Missile Systems Electronics Technology Department provides engineering design, integration and cradle-to grave support to Missiles, Smart Munitions, Projectiles, Kinetic Kill Vehicles, and Directed Energy Weapons with combat system competencies including process and control, integration and test, power systems, multiple system electronics, receivers and exciters, antennas and microwave sub-assemblies.
Experience the Components Management and Components Selection environment supporting the electronics design process. Tasks will include selecting, specifying, and ensuring proper design component applications used in one or more Raytheon Missile Systems program application(s). Determine that component applications adhere to the Program Statement of Work (SOW) and other defined customer components application requirements. Research and determine Program component environmental and characteristic application requirements. Interface with multiple internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop component risk and verification delineation. Create component verification data packages with supporting data. Provide applications engineering support to multiple Program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs.) Facilitate Components Selection and Libraries application through the coordination and generation of the Program Bill of Material (BOM) in a collaboration toolset. Presentation of Components Standardization, Design Library, Obsolescence Management and Termination Finish Risk results in support of Program Design Reviews. Components Engineering management tasks support the full program lifecycle; Proposal, System Design & Development, Low Rate Initial Production, Production and Support phases.

- Technical working knowledge of electronic components, e.g. Semiconductor, passive and/or electromechanical commodities and their application.
- Introductory knowledge of component failure modes by commodity
- Limited knowledge of component reliability process monitors and/or qualification methodologies
- Knowledge of analog design and analysis, general knowledge of digital circuitry and interfaces.
- Knowledge and experience with use of lab common equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzer, etc.).
- Limited knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and test equipment.
- Limited knowledge of circuit card and PWB manufacturing processes
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including MS Access
- Ability to navigate multiple complex processes and tools.
- Effective communication and the ability to work with and take directions from Functional Management, and Programmatic Leads from multiple programs.
- Ability to effectively multi-task.
- Self-starter that knows when to ask questions or ask for help.
Required Education (including Major): Pursuing a Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Cumulative GPA of 3.00 is desiredThis position can be a Salary Grade ST02, Salary Grade ST03, Salary Grade ST04 or Salary Grade ST05 based on the candidate's qualifications as outlined below:ST02 (Sophomore Technical Intern) - must have completed 30 hours of college
- Active electronic circuit design experience.
- Experience with Components Standardization within the Design process.
- Experience with the development of associated component data / drawings and the judgment of component applications to meet project objectives and requirements.
- Knowledge of component selection, screening, qualification, and derating for use in military, and aerospace flight applications.
- Experience with BOM development and management for developmental and production programs
- Working knowledge of Components Obsolescence Management methodologies.
- Troubleshooting and diagnosis of electrical circuit failures.
- Mentor Graphics Expedition or Design Architect and circuit simulation/analysis tools (PSPICE, Analog Workbench).
ST03 (Junior Technical Intern) - must have completed 60 hours of college
ST04 (Senior Technical Intern) - must have completed 90 hours of college
