Job Description:
Duty Description: The AUTL Mentor will track from order, to receipt, to distribution all ASSF Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases with the Security Assistance Office and CSTC-A. The AUTL Mentor will track all order from receipt to distribution of all ASSF classes of supplies to include: II (expendables), VII (major end item), and IX (repair parts). AUTL Mentor is responsible for traveling to the AUTL yard and identifying cargo for shipment to the ANASOC, SMW, or subordinate ASSF organizations, to include frustrated cargo. The AUTL Mentor will interact with the CSD Movement Mentor and provide estimated times of departure and estimated time of arrival of supplies and equipment. The AUTL Mentor will assist Afghan counterparts (and US/Coalition Forces) in forecasting and determining overall requirements needed to support ANASOC, SMW, and all other ASSF organizations. The AUTL Mentor will provide TAAM to (Afghan) GSK LNOs to include processing all paperwork and receipt of needed supplies.


Work Hours:
Work may include nights, holidays, and weekends on short notice. Standard will be to conduct training six (6) days per week for up to ten (10) hours per day while at OCONUS work site(s) and a standard 40 hour work week while at CONUS work sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Track all order from receipt to distribution of all ASSF classes of supplies to include: II (expendables), VII (major end item), and IX (repair parts).
  • Familiarity and insights of AUTL, CSD, and GEARLOT activities.
  • Familiarity with Central Movement Agency operations; transportation from CSD to Regional Logistics Support Centers (RLSC).
  • Responsible for traveling to the AUTL yard and identifying cargo for shipment to the ANASOC, SMW, or subordinate ASSF organizations, to include frustrated cargo.
  • Familiarity with Afghan Central Workshop and National Maintenance Strategy.
  • Shall have COREIMS Training and capable of teaching Afghan counterparts.
  • Capable of ?backfilling? teammate positions as required and directed by the team leader.
  • Track from order, to receipt, to distribution all ASSF Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases.
  • Familiarity with Security Assistance Office operations.
  • Provide insights with regard to inbound Afghan Special Security Forces (ASSF) logistics, equipment, supplies, and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to the SMW SOAG, ANASOC SOAG, and General Support Kandak.
  • At the direction of the team leader, serve as a conduit between NSOCC-A, CSTC-A, respective SOAGs, and Afghan GEARLOT, AUTL, and CSD personnel.
  • Assist Afghan counterparts (and US/Coalition Forces) in forecasting and determining overall requirements needed to support ANASOC, SMW, and all other ASSF organizations.
  • Provide TAAM to (Afghan) GSK LNOs to include processing all paperwork and receipt of needed supplies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Shall be honorably discharged from service and will have a minimum of one year U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps with Brigade Combat Team, DIV, and/or Corps level Logistical (or equivalent) experience or other service component equivalence.

  • Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility
  • Must be able to obtain a Visa for Afghanistan
  • This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
  • Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
  • Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S. Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
  • Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
  • Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
  • Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
  • Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.

Security Clearance Requirement: Must possess and maintain a SECRET security clearance

Desired Qualifications:
  • Prefer depot level experience
  • Prefer previous experience training and advising foreign military soldiers
  • Familiarity with Afghan MoD Decrees and logistics systems
  • Experience with IT systems

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited school & four (4) years of related experience, OR two (2) years related experience with Master's degree. Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (12 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.
