Job Description:
Test Engineer is responsible for Special Test Equipment (STE) Design, development and integration of the STE with the Prime Hardware for Space and Airborne Systems. As a Test Engineer, the candidate will work as part of a team to develop /analyze Hardware / Software test routines and specification requirements. The position requires a candidate that is adept at both Software and Hardware. Potential areas of focus are: Receiver Module and Receiver Unit Test Sub-Systems on multiple airborne programs.

Candidate will be required to analyze and test RF/digital circuits associated with unit and system level applications. Instrumentation skills should include working knowledge of oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and general test equipment. Personal disciplines should include strong adherence to; lab practices, configuration control, and program instructions. Candidate should be reliable, a self-starter, and able to work with minimum direction. Periodic travel requiring non-standard work schedules may be required.

Required Skills:

  • Software development experience (i.e. internship, co-op, projects, etc.)
  • Software programming experience using NI LabWindows & TestStand, C, and/or C++ languages.
  • Experience in troubleshooting RF/uWave Hardware and developing test solutions
  • Experience with Receiver/Exciter and RF Design (Panels, Wiring, grounding schemes, etc.)
  • Experience with Commercial-Off-The-Shelf Test Equipment (Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, DMMs, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of drawing software applications (ORCAD/MENTOR or similar app.).
  • Execution of disciplined problem solving approach.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Minimum of 5yrs in System / Subsystem Level Integration & Test or Design
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Security Clearance:
  • This position requires a “Secret” security clearance

Desired Skills:
  • Willingness to work both Software and Hardware development effort.
  • Passion for striving for success combined with a strong work ethic.
  • Software development experience using LabView, Matlab.
  • Experience with Windows XP, WIN7, WIN10 and the Microsoft Office tools suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Self-starter able to solve problems independently but also work as part of a team, as required.
  • Disciplined problem solving approach to all engineering tasks (testing. documentation, etc.).

Required Education (including Major): Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
