Raytheon Hardware Engineering Center (HWEC) Airborne Radar Electronics Department in El Segundo, California is looking for a Senior Multi-Disciplined Engineer to support F/A-18 APG-65/73 Radar Sustainment Programs. This engineer will be the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for APG-65/73 modules, units, and system. This engineer must have the ability to ensure all outstanding engineering changes are in compliance with design standards, work with multi-functional teams to ensure on-time release of drawing changes and maintain the design integrity of the system. The engineer needs to have hands-on testing and troubleshooting skills for production and field returned hardware, ability to find root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) and provide technical assistance. This position will interface with Integrated Product Team Leads (IPTL) and stake holders to ensure program objectives are achieved.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Perform as Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for all APG-65/73 outstanding engineering changes, hardware dispositions, and technical expert for the program.
Provide REA support to Forest facility in troubleshooting production/repair hardware.
Prepare test plans to execute Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V).
Assist in identifying obsolete components, and analyzing replacement components.
Identify, initiated, and submit engineering changes for review. Track and manage all program engineering changes to ensure on-time/budget delivery.
Process Supplier Change Request Number (SCRN) assigned to APG-65/73 engineering.
Organize and align engineering tasks to ensure APG-73 Program Management Office (PMO) goals/schedules are being met.
Review engineering documents to identify the classification of Request for Quotes (RFQ).
6+ years of relevant experience in hardware design or testing of modules/subsystems, and overall system architecture.
Must have experience with cPDM and change review board (CRB) processes.
Material Review Board (MRB) certification.
Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations.
Willing to take actions and responsibilities, self-disciplined to follow through and complete assigned tasks.
Proven experience in testing, troubleshooting and performing failure analysis on Airborne Radar Products.
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or equivalent discipline in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. DOD Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
General knowledge of integration processes for Radar and Electronic Warfare.
Strong skills and experience performing analysis of technical data.
Experience with RF network analyzers and spectrum analyzers.
Flexible for travels to Raytheon manufacturing sites.
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification.
Cost Account Manager (CAM) for engineering accounts experience, include: preparing quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) inputs, manpower estimates, risk and opportunities, and reviewing engineering expensing, for accuracy.
BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or equivalent discipline in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Math, or equivalent discipline in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).
