Position: Deputy Operations Manager - Security

Location: Kabul, Afghanistan

FLSA Status: Exempt



Position Summary: The Deputy Operations Manager - Security Assists the OM in providing leadership, management, and direction for task order security personnel (PRS or guard).



Essential Functions:

  • Manages all aspects of planning, scheduling, organizing, and assessing performance of assigned security personnel (PRS or guard).

  • Ensures that all task order security personnel abide by the contract mandated standards of conduct as described in SOW.

  • On a short-term basis, and only in the absence of the OM or other OM qualified personnel, may assume the on-site role and responsibilities of the OM in an acting capacity.

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned according to the needs of the customer/client

Requirements:

Crucial Requirements:

  • Must possess either:

    1. A Master?s degree from an accredited institution and four (4) years of applicable work experience

      • A minimum of three (3) years of this experience must have been work in planning, evaluating, analyzing, and implementing government security-type programs, specifically personal protection, emergency response team, or guard force.

      • A minimum of one (1) year of this experience must have been protective security experience under an equivalent task order or any of its predecessor contracts.

      • A minimum of one (1) year of this experience must have been supervisory experience.

    2. A Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution and seven (7) years of applicable work experience

      • A minimum of five (5) years of this experience must have been work in planning, evaluating, analyzing, and implementing government security-type programs, specifically personal protection, emergency response team, or guard force.

      • A minimum of one (1) year of this experience must have been protective security experience under an equivalent task order or any of its predecessor contracts.

      • A minimum of two (2) year of this experience must have been supervisory experience.

    3. An Associate?s degree and ten (10) years of applicable work experience.

      • A minimum of seven (7) years of this experience must have been work in planning, evaluating, analyzing, and implementing government security-type programs, specifically personal protection, emergency response team, or guard force.

      • A minimum of one (1) year of this experience must have been protective security experience under an equivalent task order or any of its predecessor contracts.

      • A minimum of three (3) years of this experience must have been supervisory experience.

  • Experience may be gained in the employ of any national, state, provincial, local, or commercial entities providing armed protective services.

  • Level III English proficiency.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

Upon client approval, and before working on the contract, the DOMSEC shall:

  • Attend and successfully complete the protective security specialist (PSS) training course, guard training course, or both as required by the task order.

  • Qualify with the Glock-19, M4, M203, M240, M249, and Remington 870 shotgun, re-qualifying as required by the task order.

  • Attend and successfully complete the supervisory training course XXXXX

  • Complete the Physical Readiness Test at the 65% performance level, and maintain that fitness level for the duration of his/her service on the task order. 

  • Obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance as identified in the task order

  • Possess no impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy in general, or to the country or countries assigned in the applicable task order in specific.

The physical demands listed below, though not fully inclusive, must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a long period of time. 

  • The employee is frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
