Job Description:

Opportunity for a Sr. Hardware Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of the Operations Quality team in a busy and growing Manufacturing Facility. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

As a Sr. Hardware Quality Engineer (Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer I), you're a key member of the production value stream. The scope of your responsibilities will include process planning, inspection and test methodology, Non-Conforming Material Control, issue resolution and product acceptance. In addition, you'll be involved with Defect Prevention through data analysis and effective resolution of Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation.

In this high visibility role, you'll also be a key member of cross-functional teams, bringing your Quality Science skills and expertise to drive issue resolution and process improvement. In addition, you'll have regular interface with internal (DCMA) and external (DoD) customers. This position also includes production floor support to address process and supplier issues at all levels.

This role will require obtaining a secret clearance.

This position can be a Salary Grade G08 or Salary G09 based upon the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.


Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Operations and/or Quality Experience with analytical skills in root-cause analysis and/or corrective/preventive actions.
  • Manufacturing Process/Production Floor Support.
  • Customer Interface experience
Desired Skills:
  • Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with quality system, ISO/AS 9100, quality concepts and general understanding of aerospace/defense regulations and standards
  • Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance requirements on technical drawings
  • American Society for Quality (ASQ), Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Certification
  • Experience preparing and presenting product utilizing Government DD250 and DD1149 process
  • Manufacturing Process generation and understanding
  • Workmanship /Inspection Standard Knowledge
  • International Experience and/or bilingual
  • Advanced Quality Science tool experience, (e.g.) SPC, Sampling, PFMEA Knowledge or MRP tools, (e.g.) SAP
  • Cabling, Mechanical assembly and Circuit Card experience
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science or a Technical Discipline
