Integrated Product Support Services (IPSS) - Communications Specialist
Serves as a top level technical or functional expert supporting one or more clients and unlimited user groups.
Performs highly specialized technical tasks associated with cutting-edge technologies.
Works with user groups to solve business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals.
Applies expert functional knowledge and experience to significant business projects or processes.
May perform business development activities, including providing technical input to proposal efforts.
Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff.
May serve as a technical task or project leader.
May have supervisory responsibilities.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant developments in area of expertise.
Participates in special projects as required.
IPSS product promotion consultants work with action officers (AOs), the Public Affairs Office (PAO) and other internal entities to develop and execute comprehensive promotion and distribution (P&D) plans for high-priority products such as those which contain clinical or technical information. The Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) program consists of business control process for managing products from concept to retirement. This process routinizes product version control to ensure the public has access to trustworthy resources that utilize the latest research. PLM processes increase patient safety by enabling IPSS and action officers to identify and recall outdated materials when necessary. PLM tracking integrates with print processes, web content, and warehouse fulfillment.
The individual will provide resources to support graphic design, product feedback collection, and product fulfillment tactics.
Operate, maintain and update the Research and Development (J9) Resource Communication Guide. This Guide provides a comprehensive list of resources and is designed to provide readers with insight into standards, clinical tools and research products that can advance military health care. It contains information throughout to educate the reader about the purpose of each resource - as well as the key messages, audiences, contributors, related products and specifications associated with each. Additionally, this guide provides product overviews, talking points, target audiences, related documents, print specifications, content contributors and current access information. The Resource Communication Guide is an internal product published monthly in pdf format (Deliverable 15), unless otherwise directed by the COR
Manage, update and provide recommendations for improvement for the Product Distribution Analysis Tool (PDAT) (Deliverable 19), unless otherwise directed by the COR. This SharePoint hosted tool provides Research and Development (J9) leaders and staff the ability to analyze product distribution trends from the organizational level down to specific products. The PDAT contains numerous dashboards, is populated manually and updated monthly
Operate, maintain and update the Research and Development (J9) Product Promotion Slide Library. These PAO approved product promotion slides can be used in external presentations, education events, websites and other communication channels (Deliverable 20), unless otherwise directed by the COR.
At the direction of the Government, the contractor shall provide resources which consult and provide recommendations for Master Marketing, Communications and Distribution Strategy (MMCDS) Consultation. The resources shall work with the public affairs team and leadership to execute marketing tactics aimed at building awareness and use of its products and provide product distribution analysis support to afford the product owners insight into product distribution trends for awareness and in support of decision-making. At the direction of the Government, the resources shall provide consultative activities which 1) determine target audiences, 2) outline social marketing goals and objectives, 3) determine marketing mix (product, price, place and promotion), 4) plan for monitoring and evaluation and 5) implement and manage the MMCDS for specific Research and Development (J9) products.
