We are seeking an AV Installation Technician to join our Justice Programs team in support of the Department Of Justice. As an AV Installation Technician you will be required to perform the following task: 

  • Analyze, administers and maintains voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
  • Manages the usage and performance of voice, video and/or data communications networks.
  • Have the capability to build A/V systems including but not limited to terminating cables, installing A/V system parts with a rack, and connecting system equipment with the appropriate cabling, good cable management skills, and testing the equipment once assembled.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
  • Be familiar with all A/V equipment and tools to build and install the equipment to include but not limited to testing terminated cables and various system parts to determine defective cabling and parts.
  • Be knowledgeable in spacing and installing ceiling mics and speakers with the ability to install table mics, sound bars and monitors.
  • Have the ability to pull old system cabling out and replace with new system cabling using cable management practices and skills during an install. Must be able to pull cabling across the ceiling, through a cable tray in the floor, and understand how to use various tools including crimping tools and power tools.
  • Required to maintain professionalism and a clean work space. It is required for job sites to be left clean and free of debris each day of the installs including but not limiting to trash removal, dusting, covering furniture prior to beginning work, sweeping up after work is completed for the day.


Responsible for the analysis, administration and support of voice, video, and/or data communications networks. Must able to work well with a team, have the ability to read technical diagrams, and terminate all types of network cabling. Must also have the ability to troubleshoot voice and video installation and manage common system issues.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, computer science, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or 2-5 years of directly related work experience/military service. Must be open to travel 40% of the time in the continental US.
