Position Overview

Personnel Security / Research Support personnel are responsible for the processing and status documenting of security background investigation requests from military, civilian and industrial sources. The Team Lead role will be responsible for overseeing a team of 2 – 5 Research Support personnel. This individual will work directly with Adjudicators, serving as a liaison between government customer and service providers/partners.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Interface between Government agencies and industrial partners for obtaining; processing; verifying; and disseminating personnel security information and access to customer programs; for review and approval by the USG
  • Provide accurate and timely operational and administrative support to Case Analysts and Adjudicators
  • Review individual personal history statements and other documents for completeness, for review and approval by the USG
  • Maintain accurate personnel data in all files
  • Update the customer clearance database
  • Maintain confidentiality of assets and information pertaining to personnel security
  • Learn various security databases in order to perform research support tasks
  • Participates in special projects as required

This position is measured by customer-directed metrics that must be maintained by each individual in the position.   Comprehensive training is provided and generally milestones need to be reached prior to moving to the next stage of training.  Progress during training is reviewed on a regular basis by the trainer/management team and communicated to the employee.  It is anticipated that employees will be able to successfully and competently perform most functions of their role within a 6-8 week time period, with minimal errors. 

 

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • 5 - 8 years of related administrative, security and analytical experience.
  • Prior experience in the Personnel Security discipline (investigations, adjudications or polygraph);
  • Demonstrated expert level in preparing reports/delivering status on taskings/preparing metrics;
  • Demonstrated expert level skill in resolving discrepancies;
  • Demonstrated expert level in prioritizing work for teams;
  • Experience in accommodating change, providing support to branch management, performing analytical work, troubleshooting problems, issue resolution, and is customer service oriented
  • Experience in processing personnel records as they relate to background investigations
  • Working knowledge of ICD 704 and E.O. 12968 guidelines
  • Database data entry skills
  • Ability to elicit, articulate, and document information in a detailed and well-organized manner
  • Ability to learn various databases during performance of the contract
  • Prioritize competing tasks and possess effective time management skills
  • Demonstrated experience with current version of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in fast-paced environment that requires multitasking
  • Proficiency in managing high volumes of email transactions and evolving priorities

Education:
