The Deputy Program Manager will assist our efforts on a large scale education program in Washington, DC. The successful Deputy Program Manager will have demonstrated exceptional skills with oral and written communication, critical thinking and analysis, meeting facilitation, and interpersonal interactions. They will manages and be responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program areas including technical work, staff supervision, financial and business development activities.

 
  • Manages and is responsible for the successful completion of all tasks in assigned program area including technical work, financial and business development activities.
  • Maintains a general knowledge of all technical and management areas of the contract.
  • Supervises assigned technical and administrative staff, including subordinate supervisors, and performs personnel actions including hiring and performance evaluation.
  • Directs program activities to meet client and organization work objectives and serves as a liaison with clients to coordinate activities, negotiate tasks, and solve problems.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day direction and leadership for the technical team and (as applicable) the lower-tier technical leads in setting the technical baseline and approach on the program. This does include the support of the creation of the program plan (programmatic and technical), including the Integrated Master Schedule.
  • Responsible for profitability and revenue growth of assigned program(s).
  • Assures quality of program products, services, and deliverables, including participating in reviews, audits, and site visits.
  • Performs business development activities, including the preparation and review of technical and cost proposals.
  • Manage the program’s continuous improvement process
  • Support Change Requests – review/approve the solution and estimates associated with effort associated with operational area.
  • Performs program financial management services, including financial analysis, budget and cost quote preparation, cost management, reconciliation, and profit enhancement.
  • Coordinates and monitors sub-contractor activities and administers subcontractor deliverables and finances.
  • Develops, reviews, and approves plans, schedules, consulting agreements and other program documents.
  • Prepares and provides various reports and technical reviews to senior management as requested.
  • Facilitate the program’s Risk Management program to ensure risks are identified and tracked at the proper levels
  • Ensures compliance with relevant corporate and government policies and standards.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of related experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Effective management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective business development skills including proposal development and preparation.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interface with customers
  • Detailed knowledge of Education regulations and standards.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Professional certification (PMP) preferred.
