The Front Line Leader (FLL) is responsible for manufacturing and compliance related activities within a production environment. The successful candidate reports to the Operations Manager and is accountable for the daily management and direction of assembly, test and inspection employees. The candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a fast paced deadline driven environment. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in this manufacturing leadership role. This position includes, but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for the development of a flexible and cross-trained workforce Daily performance which entails the execution to MRP, Takt time, daily goals
  • Responsible for the management of Tiered Accountability (Levels 1 & 2) and Total Employee Engagement (TEE) initiatives within the area of responsibility
  • Monitor safety performance of the team and insure the proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is available and being used appropriately
  • Insure proper resources are available
  • Coordinate PTO and overtime consistent with policy, law and the current collective bargaining agreement
  • Meet schedule commitments and keep team motivated and focused
  • Utilize proper corrective actions, discipline, rewards and recognitions consistent with policies and laws
  • Must insure all employees are treated fairly and consistently. This will require a thorough understanding of Company policies and procedures, rules of conduct, and the proper use of discretion in the application of these elements
  • Promote Diversity and Wellness programs
  • Must be committed to process improvement and supportive of business initiatives including Raytheon Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing
  • Approve labor charging and correct inaccuracies as required - monitor and record employee attendance
  • Identify opportunities to develop employee skills and insure the proper coordination with the appropriate functions to make sure this occurs
  • Attend and participate in department meetings and lead daily IPT meetings
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers and support personnel,
  • Insure your team is communicated with and provide necessary and timely flow down of information
  • Keep management informed and bring up barriers so that they may be properly dealt with
  • Understand and communicate Quality/Cost/Schedule metrics
  • Maintain a manage a 6S work area
  • Maintain physical security of classified documents, hardware and software and assure employees, customers and visitors have proper clearance and that badges are properly displayed
  • All other duties as assigned

Required Skills:
  • At least 1 year experience leading or supervising employees
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning/scheduling, and lean manufacturing concepts
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing processes including wire harness assembly, circuit card assembly, and testing operations
  • Experience resolving various concerns and issues of employees.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and briefings and relay information to the members of the shift
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Secret Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of basic manufacturing or electronic theory
  • Ability to provide direction based on general Raytheon policies and management guidance
  • Broad knowledge of business systems, shop floor control, engineering, manufacturing, and financial systems
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing concepts and / or use of Six Sigma tools to reduce variation
  • Experience as a team builder, coach and facilitator, and successfully integrate, motivate and direct a diverse range of employees
  • Existing Secret Security Clearance
