Job Description:
Raytheon IIS seeks a qualified Mechanical Engineer with experience in electrical/mechanical rack design to provide support to our Hardware & Infrastructure (HW&I) engineering team. The qualified candidate will provide development support for new rack designs and implementation support via oversight of the electrical drawing process from designer hand-off to build-up of the equipment racks. They will prepare hardware drawings, parts list, and perform cooling and power analyses for new designs. They will also update existing drawings and equipment with modifications to operational and factory system assets. The engineer will serve as factory lab lead supporting lab audits, equipment inventory, ensure compliance with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) requirements, and maintain lab access lists. Occasional travel to customer sites for installation of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment will be needed. An active US Government TS/SCI clearance and US Citizenship is required as of day one for this position.

NOTE: Candidates with a current Top Secret Security Clearance or higher are eligible for a $20,000 sign on bonus if the clearance is confirmed and you're hired by Raytheon.

Required Skills:

  • Active US Government TS/SCI Security Clearance and US Citizenship required
  • General knowledge of common infrastructure hardware (compute, network, and storage)
  • Six or more years of experience in rack assembly, including cable plant installation
  • Experience using test equipment (i.e., spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters)
  • Experience using maintenance manuals, procedures, and engineering drawings of rack components and assemblies
  • Experience with developing Bill of Materials (BOMs) for COTS hardware assemblies, including interfacing with procurement and logistics
  • Able to travel on occasion, domestically or internationally for up to 4 weeks
Desired Skills:
  • Experience using and configuring baseband or RF hardware
  • Experience troubleshooting of satellite ground stations/systems
  • Familiarity with satellite ground station architectures
  • Experience with Ground Antenna Hardware/RF testing
  • Experience with Linux-based systems CLI
Required Education:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 6 years of related work experience or 14 years of related work experience in lieu of a STEM degree 125931BR 125931
