  • Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.
  • Sets up administrator and service accounts.
  • Maintains system documentation
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • May program in an administrative language.
  • Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
  • Provides advice and training to end-users.
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced staff members, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
  • May serve as a technical team or task leader.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Participates in special projects as required.

 

Qualifications:

This position is primarily responsible for the Development (DEV) network and servers and requires someone to maintain the Virtualized infrastructure (VMware, SAN, and hosts)

  • STIGS and Patches the DEV environment
  • Tests STIGS and Patches for functional effects
  • Validates STIGs and Patches
  • Assists with Quality assurance of the DEV environment
  • Configures, modifies, and performs O&M functions of the DEV environment
  • Develops test plans for approval
  • Develops deployment packages
  • Assists with the design of the network
  • Assists with capacity management
  • Monitors daily operations to determine potential issues
  • Executes Break Fix Actions on the Dev Network
  • Supports IT logistics via inventory, equipment tracking
  • Sole source of local IT Help desk support i.e. end user, network cabling, Government Network Enterprise Center interface and Trouble Ticket support.
  • 2-5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

 

Contract Requirements:

  1. Must obtain a Secret Clearance prior to start
  2. IT-I (SSBI) Favorable Background Check
  3. IAT - II Certification required at start (Security + CE, CCNA, or SSCP)
  4. MCP or higher certification required within 6 months of hire
  5. Shift work is required for this position.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
