Title: Technical Professional - Process

(KBR Technical Services, Inc.; Houston, TX) Perform engineering work, and assist with design and coordination requirements for chemical process plants. Develop process simulations, design basis documents, reports, studies, material and energy balances. Perform hydraulic calculations and develop flow and pressure drop information for control valve sizing. Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Develop equipment loads for selection of mechanical equipment. Participate in process hazard analysis and identification reviews. Conduct specialty and non-specialty overpressure protection analysis, including relief scenario development, relief device sizing and flare design. Responsible for line list, major equipment list, and control and relief valve summaries. 40 hrs/wk, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. (Job Code: 1074410).

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline plus 3 years of experience in a process engineering role. Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in each of the following: utilizing American Petroleum Institute (API) codes 520 and 521 and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standard B 31.3 and Section VIII; utilizing SmartPlant P&ID; designing devices and systems for specialty chemicals such as TFP/TCP , toluenes, diamines, benzene, nonene, and/or sulfuric acid; designing hot oil heating medium systems, including both process design and associate relief systems; utilizing LNG and Biofuels technologies; utilizing process simulation tools; developing flow diagrams (process and utility), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), and equipment loadsheets; and performing equipment sizing, line sizing, relief valve sizing, and overpressure protection analysis. In lieu of a Bachelor’s, will also accept a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline plus 1 year experience in a process engineering role. Of the required experience, must have 6 months experience in each of the skills listed above.
