The Aircraft Issuer/Dispatcher issues aircraft to Squadron Flight Duty Officers in accordance with established procedures. Verifies required maintenance has been performed and releases aircraft safe for flight.
Operate two-way communication equipment to coordinate flight-line operations.
Provide technical assistance, guidance and instruction to employees in the Organizational Maintenance Control Clerk classification.
Perform the duties and responsibilities of the Data Entry Clerk classification.
Obtain qualification to Release aircraft "Safe for Flight" within thirty (30) days of start date and maintain qualification while assigned as an Aircraft Issuer / Dispatcher.
Utilizing North Field Aircraft Issue Form designate and issue aircraft that meet mission requirements for scheduled instructor pilots and students.
Direct pilot-reported discrepancies to appropriate maintenance personnel.
Assist student and instructor pilots in completion of required maintenance forms.
Maintain / review Aircraft Discrepancy Books (ADB) to ensure accuracy.
Coordinate special / cross country flights with squadron flight duty officer.
Maintain appropriate tracking for fuel, aborts, trouble calls, oxygen servicing, spot numbers, turn around inspections, oil log etc.
Track aircraft high time components, phases and oil sampling and generate Maintenance Action Form when required
Present a courteous and professional demeanor when dealing with customers.
Perform other qualified duties as required.
Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated a working knowledge of Maintenance Control procedures and the coordination of aircraft maintenance.
Able to operate two-way communication equipment and speak in a clear and concise manner. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance records / forms and possess a working knowledge of the T-6 aircraft and associated systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of computer keypunch input and type a minimum of thirty-five (35) words per minute.
Working knowledge of applicable maintenance / technical manuals and publications.
Able to read, write, understand and communicate the English language and to follow verbal and written instructions.
Experience & Education
Three (3) or more years’ experience in military or civilian aviation maintenance control.
Satisfactory completion of U.S. Armed Forces aviation clerical courses or other schools with an equivalent curriculum or three (3) year of on the job training and /or experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to meet any Government / Company licensing / qualification requirements for the position.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Administrative duties that may require occasional kneeling, standing, stooping and bending are required. Required lifting up to 50 lbs.
Primarily working in an office environment with minimum exposure to noise hazards. May be required to handle hazardous materials.
Exposure to prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and keyboard input. Possible exposure to hazardous material identified on the Material Safety Data Sheets. Possible exposure to electrical shock
