Candidate will be responsible for driving resolution of manufacturing issues impacting process yield and efficiency in the assembly and testing of electro-optical products in the North Texas Raytheon factories. The candidate will utilize process improvement methodologies to identify solutions and project management skills to drive implementation. The individual should have a passion and expectation for hands-on tasks, interacting with shop floor personnel and with engineering and manufacturing groups to ensure plans are created and implemented. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and leadership skills, having a track record of identifying and implementing change. The candidate should have strong technical acumen, demonstrating a capability to understand complex electrical and mechanical systems while having the ability to delineate the details and focus on the critical few. The candidate will ideally expand these responsibilities to assist other team members in evaluating future designs for manufacturability and assembly.
Detailed, hands-on experience in the application of continuous improvement approaches: Six Sigma, RCA, and/or Lean/Kaizen
Ten or more years of experience and a BS degree or Eight years of experience with a MS degree as below, within a manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality, schedule and cost
Experience with M/S Office Tools i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Demonstrated capability to solve complex problems and implement solutions within a matrixed environment
Strong technical acumen, demonstrated capability to understand complex electrical and mechanical systems in support of process improvement initiatives
Outstanding verbal/written communication and teamwork collaboration skills. The position requires an individual that can communicate with all levels of the organization in a professional and thorough manner
Experience with new product development/introduction activities and the pro-active management of the process
Experience with CAD software (e.g. CREO)
Familiarity with Raytheon MTS products
Experience with high-mix, low-volume production
Experience with hardware or system design
Experience with complex assembly of technical components
Knowledge and use of Process Simulation modeling tools, statistics, and statistical tools (Minitab)
Experience with Electro-Optical and Electro-mechanical manufacturing operations and processes (optics potting, soldering, testing, etc…)
Familiarity with Raytheon systems (Visiprise Management (VM), Process Re-invention for Integrating Systems for Manufacturing ( PRISM ) and Product Data Management (PDM) )
Adaptable and willing to work varying assignments
Demonstrated ability to follow rules and regulations. Willing to comply with all pertinent Raytheon EHS Directives and Instructions and other applicable Program and Site Directives and Raytheon Company Policies
Bachelor’s Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree.
Master’s degree is desired.
