Job Description:

The Advanced NAMD Program Manager will report to the Director of ANAMD within the AMS product line. This Program Manager will be responsible for managing cost, schedule and performance on Barracuda Unmanned Mine Detection System. The Barracuda program is the development of an unmanned underwater vehicle intended to identify and neutralize bottom, near surface and drifting sea mines. The prime contractor is Raytheon IDS, with AMS as a major sub. The Barracuda PM will be responsible for development of the kill mechanism for the system, supplier management and coordination with IDS. The Program Manager will also be accountable to the ANAMD Program Director for supporting various capture efforts and undersea kill chain events. This position may also collaborate with the NAMD core product line and IDS on undersea warfare strategies. Will develop and maintain collaborative and responsive internal relationships with peers across the AMS product line and corresponding functional leads for the product line including BD, Contracts, Finance, etc.

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for overall program execution including cost, schedule and performance for the Barracuda program
  • Responsible for supporting various captures and growth activities for the Advanced NAMD portfolio
  • Responsible for articulating to senior leadership the ongoing status on cost and schedule performance, R&Os and strategies for program execution and new business opportunities that can ultimately grow the core product lines
  • May be responsible for managing NBI funding to enable RMS to participate in key growth activities from which relationship building, identification of pursuit pipeline or strategy development might emerge
  • Maintain collaborative and responsive relationships within the product line and with corresponding functional support organizations
  • Establish and grow working relationships with diverse set of customers, industry partners, etc
  • Stay abreast of technical and programmatic progress and issues on the Barracuda program; keep senior management apprised of any major risks and provide mitigation plans as needed
  • Understand and represent customer needs to senior management in a timely and effective manner; be an advocate to internal and external customers including the NAMD product line and represent their needs to a diverse set of stakeholders
  • May lead special projects identified by the ANAMD Director


Required Skills:
  • Minimum 10+ years’ of direct related progressive experience in program and/or capture management
  • Strong technical background
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Significant Defense or Government experience
  • Strong verbal, written, listening, and influential communication skills
  • Demonstrated success focusing on the needs of customers and delivering those needs
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain long term business relationships with customers and partners
  • Demonstrated experience articulating customer positions, status, and strategies to senior management
  • Knowledge of ITAR
  • Understanding of the DoD acquisition environment and missile technologies
  • Demonstrated success working in a teaming environment with customers and internal partners
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
  • PM Cert level 4 or equivalent
Required Education (including Major):
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or business related field; Advanced degree preferred in either business or technical field
