Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
US Navy Submarine AN/BYG-1 Fire Control Technician (FT) experience with Active Secret DoD Clearance is REQUIRED. Due to the nature of work performed at our facilities, US citizenship is required.

Job Description
General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) is looking for a former Fire Control Technician (FT) with at least 5 years of AN/BYG-1 experience to join our Test Team. This position provides an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of developing the latest Fire Control systems. GDMS employees work closely with the Submarine Combat System community to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong testing support for the AN/BYG-1 Tactical Control System (TCS). Conduct Test & Evaluation (T&E) of software applications and tools for new and existing programs. Responsibilities include assisting the team with software installations, build quality assurance checkouts, and executing formal verification test procedures. Duties include validating that new software implementation will meet the sailor’s needs, system troubleshooting, verification of software bug fixes, providing shift and test reports. This position requires occasional 2 and 3 shift support as well as potential travel to support East Coast testing sites (less than 5%). Candidates are expected to provide strong work ethic with a passion to deliver high quality products to the US Navy.
Required Skills
US Navy Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) experience on AN/BYG-1 Submarine Fire Control System is required. Candidate should be capable of understanding and providing technical evaluation of multiple software baselines. This position requires the ability to multi-task while working independently and within dynamic team environments. Candidates must possess high attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
These skills are a PLUS
Network and system administration and troubleshooting experience in a Linux environment
Basic Linux command line navigation skills
Good understanding of Software development
High proficiency with advanced Excel concepts including pivot tables and nested formula
Experience with Navy Submarine Design
Experience working with the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS Community)
