NAVAL AIR/SURFACE SEARCH RADAR AND ELECTRONIC NAVIGATION TECHNICIAN

 

This position provides technical support for Southeast Regional Maintenance Center (SERMC) by providing the system and equipment expertise to aid in troubleshooting, assessment, analysis, inspection, root cause localization and identification, test, certification, maintenance training, logistics configuration support, alteration development, and long-term problem resolution related to naval air and surface search radars and electronic navigation systems.

 

The position includes performing tasks on board USN ships.  Approximately 40% of the work is performed in an office environment and 60% in a shipboard environment which includes working aloft or in confined or secure spaces.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

Within the last ten years, must have both: a minimum of six (6) years full-time hands-on technical experience in the maintenance, installation, test, or repair of Air and Surface Search Radar Systems and Electronic Navigation Syetems, specifically with AN/SPS-49A; and a minimum of four (4) years full time technician experience leading maintenance, installation, test or repair of Air and Surface Search Radar Systems and Electronic Navigation Systems, specifically with AN/SPS-49A.

 

Technical experience with following systems a plus:

AN/URN-25/32 TACAN

AN/SPS-48

AN/SPS-73

Bridgemaster E Series Radar

AN/URN-31 AIS

MOBI

AN/SPS-67

ANSPS-25 G/H

 

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

 

Must have a working knowledge of Maintenance and Material Management (3M).

 

Must have an active Secret clearance.

Education:
