Position Summary

Leads a crew in performing various oilfield services. Interacts with customer representatives at the well site to determine operations on the well. Drive equipment to location and rig the equipment up. Directs the crew during operations on the well and in rigging the equipment down at the conclusion of the job. Directs and participates in the cleaning and maintenance of the service equipment. Must be available on a 24-hour basis. A high school diploma or GED is required a technical degree is preferred. Must be able to pass an ATF background check and have a clean driving record.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervises the load out of equipment for the job.
  • Communicates with the customer regarding operations on the well site and advises/recommends job procedures to achieve required objective.
  • Manages the wireline crew and directs their progression and operations in the field and shop.
  • Fills out service orders and job related paperwork completely and correctly.
  • Drive equipment as needed.
  • Assist and direct in the rigging of equipment up and down.
  • Determines proper tool strings for use in the well and directs the makeup of the tool string.
  • Designs downhole operating procedure and carries out procedure.
  • Assist and direct cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • Directs the rebuilding of tools used in the servicing of the well and assists as needed.
  • Load and assemble all types of pipe recovery explosive devices without supervision.
  • Operate and maintain assigned specialized wireline/pipe recovery equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean shop and work area.
  • Assist in the training of all Operator positions and Pipe Recovery Specialist I as assigned.
  • Make occasional sales calls on customers as needed.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Have good customer service skills.
  • Be able to work at heights exceeding 10 feet above ground level.
  • Perform all pipe recovery related engineer tasks without supervision.
  • Familiar with all wireline tools and services offered in the district including completions.
  • Can properly fill out service orders for any service offered in the district.
  • Operate crane, forklifts and man-lifts as needed.
  • Proficient in client sales calls.
  • Proficient in service quality reviews/incident investigations.
  • Knowledgeable of overall district operations including:  financials, pricing, scheduling, preferred vendors, client list, QHSE processes, invoicing, credit procedures, and collections.
  • Pass the company’s “Physical Functions Assessment”

Required Experience and Education

  • Able to obtain and maintain a class A or B CDL with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of five years of pipe recovery experience or equivalent.
