EPMPD is searching for a full-time Engineering Support Technician for our Adhesive and wet chemistry labs. The successful candidate will:

  • Operate laboratory and manufacturing equipment
  • Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment
  • Mix polymeric materials such as adhesives, paints and resins
  • Fill, prepare and ship orders to customers
  • Prepare test samples
  • Perform variety of quality conformance testing
  • Analyze test data and prepare technical reports
  • Communicate with customers and engineering team with issues that may arise
  • Identify, report and correct health, safety or quality control issues

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Required Skills:
  • Experience with wet chemistry, polymeric materials and laboratory equipment (microscopes, mixers, intron…)
  • Quality and safety minded and proactive in finding and correcting safety issues
  • Experience with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, local laboratory/chemical safety regulations, laboratory protocols, handling hazardous of materials, proper industrial hygiene and personal protective equipment
  • Experience writing technical reports, preferably test reports and specifications using Microsoft Office
  • Experience with managing many tasks and high demand work loads
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended period of time, with proper ergonomic breaks
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Familiar with FTIR, GC, viscometer, DMA, TGA, DSC, etc…
  • Familiarity with Government, Military and Aerospace standards and specifications
  • Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace industry
  • Current DoD security clearance

Required Education:
  • Associate’s Degree from an ABET accredited university with a major in science or engineering
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a lab technician or engineering tech/support capacity
