General Dynamics Federal Health Sector is actively seeking a Principal Data Analyst to design and conduct data analyses and data management in a large, complex health research environment. Design and implement data processes, using advanced programming in SAS, SQL, and other programming languages, to manage and analyze large data sources.
Identify and analyze opportunities for innovation in building data processes and developing data models to improve operational quality, efficiency, and data accuracy.
Coordinate with scientists and other technical experts to design and develop advanced methods for data analysis and machine learning techniques.
Perform rigorous review of all products to ensure quality prior to delivery.
Communicate directly with customers and partners to facilitate analytics project work.
Prepare reports, charts, tables, and other visual analytics to assist customers in understanding analytic results.
Consults with the external clients and internal staff to determine data management needs and objectives.
Develop comprehensive technical and customer documentation of data analytic processes
Work individually and collaboratively to accomplish project objectives and tasks.
Provides guidance and work leadership to less experienced Data Analysts, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
Participates in special projects as required.
15-20 years of related statistics/data analysis experience.
Strong programming experience in data analytics or statistical software.
Advanced knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in data analysis and database management.
Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related technical discipline.
