Primary responsibilities include engineering, installing and troubleshooting data and telecommunications network infrastructure for client’s customers. Additional requirements include creating and updating network documentation, network assessments and reporting results. This position will work closely with other members of the clients internetworking team to support the overall mission of the company and its' strategic business initiatives.

 

  1. Demonstrate knowledge and experience in configuration, implementation, and maintenance of voice, data, and/or network communications systems.
  2. Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner
  3. Demonstrate good working knowledge of telecommunications industry as well as voice system design and engineering
  4. Demonstrate ability to understand and apply technical concepts and ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge and experience of basic understanding of infrastructure wiring/ connectivity
  6. Knowledge in design and software support for IP, VoIP, PBX, voice mail, voice networks, and video systems
  7. Bachelor's degree with a major in a field that provides knowledge useful for managing IT requirements similar to those of the Task Order requirements
  8. Knowledge of DOD network and system security requirements.
  9. Demonstrated experience in a DOD Information Technology environment
  10. Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Design and install Cisco, Juniper, and Nortel devices (AS5300, CS2100, VOIP, Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, etc.)
  2. Design and install Nortel Call Manager, Unity, and associated Voice Applications
  3. IP Telephony systems administration, configuration, and implementation
  4. Design /maintain documentation related to network layout
  5. Maintain security policies on Tipping Point firewall solutions
  6. Ensure that requirements for high availability are in place for the Cisco environment
  7. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  8. 10-15 years of related systems engineering experience

****Night Time Position 10:00PM - 6:30AM MONDAY-FRIDAY *****

 

** NOTE: This is a Nighttime Shift position, working a set schedule of Monday-Friday 10pm-6:30am. **

 

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Monitor, maintain and administer the health of the corporate wide network infrastructure
  • Maintain and administer network infrastructure standards, documentation and fault tolerance
  • Monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting
  • Monitor and troubleshooting Call Center System (ACD)
  • Proficient in administering VoIP
  • Document logical and physical network design changes
  • Switching protocols Spanning Tree, VTP, port grouping
  • Layer networking (MPLS, etc)
  • Follow ITIL based process and procedures and escalate for technical assistance
  • Advise and make recommendations to management concerning infrastructure and related LAN issues
  • Validate and coordinate all scheduled maintenance on Transport Systems
  • Understand client's operational and sustainment methodologies and processes
  • Familiarity with current ITA NOC operations
  • Gain familiarity with the client's current data center infrastructure
  • Work with ITA and GDIT SDMs to ensure "other" services are available on time

 

5-8 years of directly related experience in network administration and support.
