This job opportunity is for the ACT/ITP Quality group as Labor Grade 24 Inspector. The inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in-process and complete item inspections on various types of optical or opto-mechanical hardware and any associated electronics that may or may not be an integral part of the device. Additionally the inspector must be able to read engineered drawings and specifications and make independent decisions based upon the condition of the hardware. Said Inspector must be to make critical decisions in high pressure situations. The candidate must be a self-starter capable of multi-tasking between various jobs and use effective time management skills. Said employee must be a team player with the ability to work other departments/functions, e.g.; Quality Engineers, Supplier Quality, IPTLs, DCMA and other customers, as well as other Inspectors within the group. The candidate must have excellent communication skills (both written and oral), organizational and problem solving skills.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience as an inspector performing in-process and final Inspections.
  • Ability to read and understand engineered drawings. Have the ability to work from engineering drawing, notes and specifications,
  • Ability to read and understand printed Assembly Instructions, MIL-Standards, and industry standards
  • Be able to work from written or verbal instructions.
  • Must be able to make confident critical decisions in stressful conditions or environments.
  • Able to interpret shelf life requirements and understand calibration requirements
  • Ability to use various digital and analog tools: calipers, micrometers, durometer, scales, gauges and microscopes.
  • Must be able complete and maintain of J-STD-001 Solder Inspect Certification and all other training and certifications Required by Raytheon and applicable to inspect hardware.

Desired Skills:
  • Exercise good technical judgment when perform incoming, in process and complete item inspections.
  • Existing Top Secret Clearance
  • Good Interpersonal skills dealing with and communicating with staff and higher-level management.
  • Proficient in Visiprise Management system or equivalent, MSWord, Excel.

Required Education: High school degree

Desired Education: Associate’s degree in a related field

Must be able to obtain Secret Clearance.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
