The Electrical Subsystems Directorate (ESD) – Strategic Operations Department is currently searching for an EMI Test Engineer/Tech who has experience in EMI/EMC requirements and test as related to military products in accordance with MIL-STD-464 and MIL-STD-461 This candidate will also be tasked to provide engineering services when required associated with the implementation of E3 design, development and test planning of military hardware. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with missile hardware and software as well as being well versed in EMI/EMC testing and documentation. Candidates will be responsible for technical support of the Lab Lead for day to day EMI Laboratory operations.
Required Experience & Skills:
Minimum 18 months of first hand EMI/EMC test experience; Key demonstrated attributes include:
·Knowledge of MIL-STD-461 test techniques and operation of equipment required to perform this testing
·Ability to provide detailed documentation related to test planning, EMI test plans and EMI procedures and test reports with minimal revision and review
·Knowledge of automated EMI test techniques and programming, specifically using TILE.
·Strong troubleshooting skills.
·Must have analytical ability to read and understand complex technical instructions, drawings and specifications and utilize complex equipment or complete experimental procedures.
·Strong customer focus with good verbal and written communication skills
·Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
·Knowledgeable of RF theory
Desired candidate should have an Associate’s degree or Certificate in a related discipline or 18 months of directly related experience in EMC field.
Desired Experience & Skills:
·Strong technical and interpersonal skills with a desire to support enterprise initiates
·Significant experience in RF Subsystems and a working understanding of architecture, design, and integration processes.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Participate as an EMI Laboratory Technician supporting the Lab Lead and program activities to include:
·Assistance with Closed Area Custodian duties and property custodian.
Execution of assigned program related tasks, including leading pre test reviews, test related documentation, performance of testing and troubleshooting and analysis of test results
·Assistance to E3 Technology Section when required on issues relating to program E3 requirements, design, test preparations and other support as required
·Assistance to Spectrum Management and RF Safety activities will be as required
·Make critical engineering judgments with minimal review by supervisor and/or a outside subject matter expert
·Will require DoD Secret level clearance and the ability to gain access to proprietary programs.
Must be able to obtain a DoD issued Secret Security Clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret. DoD Top Secret clearance desired with current SSBI within last 5 years. U.S. citizenship is required for purposes of obtaining clearances.
