Serves as a top level technical or functional expert, often working on multiple projects and programs.


The Cloud Engineer is responsible to develop and maintain high visibility cloud-based IT systems. Provides support for development in or transition to the cloud, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems. Manages system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client problems.
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities
• Creating and configuring virtual private clouds (VPCs)
• Creating EC2 instances
• Creating public and private subnets
• Creating auto scaling groups
• Configuring load balancers
• Configuring security groups
• Creating users and groups using AWS IdAM
• Maintaining Unix/Linux systems
• Evaluating systems and making recommendations to increase availability and efficiency
• Coding within AWS environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Demonstrated experience setting up virtual private clouds (VPCs)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience creating EC2 instances
• Demonstrated experience with Java development
• Perform security scans and aid in resolution
• Demonstrated experience with building systems from the ground up.
• Ability to work independently

5. May perform business development activities, including providing technical input to proposal efforts.


6. Provides guidance and training to less experienced staff.

8. May have supervisory responsibilities.


9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant developments in area of expertise.


10. Participates in special projects as required.
