GDIT is leading the effort of developing the Joint Effect Model (JEM) for the Joint Project Manager Information Systems (JPM IS) under the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD).  JEM is a Web-based software application that supplies the Department of Defense (DoD) with a single accredited tool to effectively model and simulate the effects of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) weapon strikes and incidents.  JEM can provide warfighters with the ability to accurately model and predict the time-phased impact of CBRN and Toxic Industrial Chemical/Material (TIC/TIM) events and effects.

We are currently seeking a System Administrator to manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems. The System Administrator will:  

  • Maintain the integrity and security of servers and systems
  • Set up administrator and service accounts
  • Maintain system documentation
  • Interact with users and evaluates vendor products
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery
  • Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources
  • Program in an administrative language
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results
  • Provide advice and training to end-users
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Participate in special projects as required


  • 2-5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis
  • Five (5) years' experience in each of the following: Windows systems administration, web server configurations and DoD cybersecurity requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
