The IAMD R6S Director is a key role for an executive Leader and Six Sigma Practitioner to transform and advance the construct, vision, strategy and execution of IDS Raytheon Six Sigma in the IAMD Business Area. Through Raytheon Six Sigma, this leader is responsible for maximizing customer value for business growth and execution. This leader is responsible for implementation (and in some cases creation) of the methodology necessary to embed Six Sigma as the visible core of how we operate in the Business Area. This position requires strong leadership with an emphasis on excellence in business systems, operations and a technical mindset along with business acumen. As well as the ability to influence at all levels through the VP of IAMD including high level of executive presence. This Leader has a demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, securing commitment and alignment without direct authority as well as the ability to apply data driven decisions to drive business results.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading R6S across the IAMD Business to mature the state of continuous and measurable improvement to effect business success
Reviewing IAMD goals and metrics with senior leadership to identify and prioritize high impact projects and improvement opportunities; oversee these activities strategically across the Business area
Transform the current state of R6S value proposition and branding in order to re-energize the IAMD R6S program by creating a buy-in from Program Area Directors in the Business Area Leadership team
Fostering a culture of appropriate use of R6S methods and tools to address all opportunities, problems, issues and risks efficiently and creatively. Impact Program Risks & Opportunities with R6S projects improving EAC performance for mission critical programs.
Continuous review of organization systems, philosophy, practice, and procedure to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and impact on the business
Affecting IAMD alignment with IDS values and norms through effective change management practices
Inspiring the development and sustainment of R6S in the IAMD organization
Ensuring alignment of R6S processes with Raytheon Company and other Raytheon businesses
Representing R6S as a member of the IAMD Leadership Team
Representing IAMD in the R6S community
This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Required Skills:
U.S. Citizenship is required
Ability to obtain and active US Secret Security Clearance
Minimum of 14 years of professional experience with at least 3 years in process improvements or program management
Ability to apply data driven decisions and statistical analysis to drive business results.
Solid leadership skills with high levels of executive presence and influence
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or related field
Strategic thinker who can translate strategy to tactical roadmaps and drive objective results program by program.
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
Strong commitment and experience with data analytics for process improvements
Cross functional team leadership and P&L roles in the past preferred
Lean/Agile or Digital transformation experience
Impact measurable in financial saving or Strategic change which is sustained.
Aerospace and Defense industry experience highly preferred
Demonstrated ability to lead Leadership Team level initiatives, securing commitment and alignment without direct authority
Advanced technical degree (MS or MA) or MBA is preferred.
