Job Description:

Raytheon Missile Systems’ Strategic Sourcing team is seeking a uniquely talented Mentor-Protégé Manager. Through the participation of various government sponsored Mentor-Protégé Programs, Raytheon combines its resources, stability, and experience to improve and strengthen capabilities of our protégés. Raytheon has received 23 Nunn Perry Awards for outstanding performance under the Mentor-Protégé Program.

Reporting to the Manager of Supplier Diversity, the Mentor-Protégé Program Manager will work closely with supply chain, program managers, engineering and other Raytheon subject matter experts (SME) to identify, select, and provide developmental support to Raytheon protégés.

Raytheon’s strategy as a Mentor is to:

  • Lead the efforts to create, execute, and deliver the unique and individual developmental assistance to each protégé. This includes developing mentor-protégé support teams to provide development assistance to enhance the technical and business capabilities of our protégés by assisting them develop their business skills, infrastructure, and transferring technology.
  • Develop productive, long-term strategic relationships by developing and enhancing capabilities of our protégé firms that leads to mutually beneficial teaming arrangements to identify new opportunities for our protégés and assisting Raytheon gain access to potential new markets.
  • Lead Mentor-Protégé Proposal Development efforts and writing BOEs
  • Expand subcontracting opportunities by encouraging subcontracting with our protégés across all business segments of Raytheon
  • Work closely with our Government Customers (Program and DoD Small Business Offices) to ensure we are meeting our obligations in supporting our protégé firms under the mentor-protégé agreements. This includes completing periodic reporting and participating in Program Management Reviews with our Government Customers.
Required Skills:
  • 10+ years experience in program management, supplier development or related fields
  • Managing teams and tracking performance
  • Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplements (DFARS), and related supplements and ability to research and utilize these federal acquisition regulations
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Clearance
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, etc.)
  • 4 year degree from an accredited University
Desired Skills:
  • Former experience providing support to small businesses under the Mentor-Protégé Program
  • Program Management certification
  • Experience providing proposal support/proposal operations
