ManTech seeks a Network Infrastructure Engineering Solution Architect to join our Solutions Architecture and Engineering Solutions team. The architect will provide technical pre-sales support to ManTech’s Business Units (BU) and will assist in developing network engineering focused solutions to address federal government customer needs. The role functions as a technical lead during customer engagements and facilitates interaction and collaboration with BU Leaders and Customer Account Executives. The Network Infrastructure Engineering Solution Architect is a thought leader of physical and software-defined network solutions. The architect provides guidance and insight into the approach and best practices for the implementation of network infrastructure solutions.


· Provide pre-sales network architecture and engineering support to enterprise / mission-specific solutions development or modernization efforts

· Assist Capture Managers in architecting software-defined network solutions and define the approach for analysis, design, development, integration, operations and maintenance of network solutions to meet customers’ requirements

· Analyze customer network infrastructure needs (e.g. firewalls, switches, routers, etc.), capture and define business/mission technical testing, and operational requirements

· Present technical briefings to Customer Executives and their Sr. IT Staff on network modernization and agile engineering and deployment techniques

· Record the ‘as-is’state of the customers’ current network topology / architecture, the supporting technology infrastructure, and operations and maintenance procedures

· Understand complex IT infrastructure requirements and develop Concept of Operations to drive the baseline solution for network engineering pursuits

· Communicate the role and value of the proposed network infrastructure solution to the customer organization and present the business case for the technology selection, implementation effort and/or any relevant network modernization services investments

· Assist the Sales and Operations groups with requests for quotes / information, technology and operations bids, proposals and statements of work to the customer

· Review and validate proposed infrastructure engineering and implementation services and solutions to ensure compatibility and consistency with ManTech and industry best practices

· Lead technical proposal teams from concept to detail solution development

· Facilitate and lead highly-technical solution workshops in various sized group settings

· Support developing labor, software and hardware estimates in support of proposed services, network infrastructure and network analytics solutions

· Support the estimating and pricing of network infrastructure engineering solutions

· Stay abreast of network engineering implementation trends and techniques including methodologies and vendor technologies in support of modernization or managed services

· Share with ManTech’s Community of Practices “State of the art Practices”



· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering or Physical Sciences and twelve to fifteen years related experience including management experience of technical delivery

· Experience as a Senior Network Architect / Engineer with responsibilities in the planning,design and installation oversight of all network systems (hardware, software, and security)

· Experience in extracting network needs from Owner meetings and using that analysis as the benchmark for final network design documents

· Experience in network architecture, network monitoring, operations & maintenance, and demonstrated experience in translating business objectives to technology solutions

· Experience in architecting, implementing and operating infrastructure technology labs

· Experience in delivering and managing network engineering systems integration projects

· Desirable Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and expert knowledge of the IP protocol suite and Cisco enterprise wireless networking and design

· Extensive experience with the following technologies BGP, iWAN, DMVPN, EIGRP, MPLS, VRF,QoS, PBR, VSS, HSRP, STP, Cisco Meraki stack, WAN Optimization technologies , etc

· Experience with network micro-segmentation and related technologies for the enablement of software defined security and access policies

· Experience with class security devices and software (e.g., IPS, IDS, Cisco Stealthwatch,Cisco ASA, Cisco FirePower stack) desired, VMware and server technologies, Server virtualization configuration and implementation, Storage (NAS, SAN,etc.) and network architecture.

· Prior working experience of the DoD architecture framework (DoDAF) and TOGAF

· Experience in establishing and negotiating service level agreements with network/IaaS serviceproviders to ensure service quality and availability required

· Experience working in a team environment providing detailed hardware specifications to mechanical and electrical engineers to aid in the design of mechanical and electrical systems to support network hardware infrastructure

· Linux and Windows System Administrator experience including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy


· A minimum of 5 years of experience managing relationships with senior technical customers

· Experience working with cloud based infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Google)

· Experience in Engineering Operations and Maintenance and/or Managed Services
