The Director of Contract Operations is a key enabler for RMS’ $10B contracting team. This leader is responsible for developing and delivering improvements to contract training, processes, and monitoring results for over 1000 proposals and contract actions each year. This role represents RMS with the DCMA Contracts Director and leads initiatives with Corporate Contracts as well as Contracting teams in the other businesses. The position works alongside the Contracts VP on special projects and assignments which range from customer strategies to internal initiatives to talent development. The role requires a background innovation and achievement managing multiple contract types, competitions and successful team leadership. This role represents RMS on Corporate Contracts Operations team as well as within RMS on topics including Cyber, IPDS, Global Substances, Specialty Metals, AS9100, MOCAS/OTD, and Acquisition Policy. Responsibilities include Contracts learning initiatives, policy improvement, management of the Air Force Plant 44 contract and various agreements with the Arizona Commerce Authority. Contract close out, ICMS digitization, metric reporting and compliance initiatives are of primary importance in this leadership role. Going forward, this position will also support our landed companies as an enabler to continuous improvement and Conops consistency throughout the contracting process.

Required Skills:

  • A minimum of 14 years’ progressive experience; preferably professional experience in contracts
  • Record of innovation and success managing multiple contract types
  • Knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS)
  • Experience leading a fast paced and agile team
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
Required Education:
  • BS/BA is required; preferably in one of the following majors: Business, Finance or Related Field; JD or MBA a plus
