General Dynamics IT is looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Cloud Engineering and Operations team. We are an Amazon Managed Service Partner (MSP) providing full-scope cloud engineering, operations, and development services to multiple government and commercial customers. We are looking for someone who can help extend and improve our processes, evangelize the DevOps culture, and can work with us to improve our infrastructure automation to move our customers forward. In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and improving our existing cloud infrastructure.
  • Researches, designs, develops and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software.
  • Developing automated infrastructure in a cloud environment
  • Using common DevOps tools to facilitate CI/CD  
  • Extending and Maintaining automation frameworks
  • Working with Developers to address concerns with development processes
  • Writing scripts to automate operations and server management
  • Build and maintain tools for monitoring, notifications, and analysis
  • Work with developers and operations to define DevOps processes.
  • Advising Developer and DevOps teams on infrastructure characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
  • Troubleshooting problems and provides customer support for software operating systems and application issues.
  • Writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
