An opportunity exists within the Naval Radar Software department in Marlborough, MA for a Senior Software Manager (Software Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead), for the Lower Tier Air Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS). The LTAMDS program will develop the next generation US Army ground based air and missile defense Radar system, utilizing the latest technology and development techniques.
The Naval Radar Software department contributes to the success of Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) by providing software solutions throughout the product lifecycles of some of IDS’ most prominent world class radars. The department is a critical source of support for the Radar Software Product Line (RSPL) for a variety of new technology initiatives and internal research and development (R&D) efforts. Some of the programs supported by the department include – AMDR, EASR, NCR, FSSM&I, Sentinel A4, SENSR, LTAMDS, and multiple IRADs.
The LTAMDS Software Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead is responsible for driving flawless technical, schedule, and cost performance for LTAMDS program working within the Radar Software Product Line (RSPL). The IPT Lead manages all software architecture, development and software maintenance activities, coordinating with the Army and other stakeholders. The IPT Lead is responsible for the execution of the LTAMDS Software Development ensuring all needed functionality is delivered on time and with No Doubt quality for LTAMDS Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) phase.
This role requires direct and frequent collaboration with RSPL Program Leadership, LTAMDS IPTs and PMO. Must be able to clearly communicate status, issues and resolutions to executive leadership on matters that significantly impact the program. Extensive communication with the Army customer and vendors is also required.
As a leader within the LTAMDS Engineering organization, this person will actively provide leadership, vision, strategy and guidance to ensure that the daily operations of the software organization align with the present long-term goals of IDS engineering and IAMD.
In this strategic role, the IPT Lead coordinates with related IRAD-funded and Capital-funded efforts to ensure the solution is complete. The leader brings Agile and DevOps best practices into the RSPL teams, increasing productivity and accelerating delivery of production software
The role supports the Patriot program office in future growth through proposal development and the deployment and continual improvement of people, processes and tools. The lead represents the interests of several engineering directorates (SED, SADID, SVTAD) on the program and is responsible for managing a team capable of delivering products that include software, algorithms, requirements, simulations, customer briefings, etc.
This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
