Job Description

This is Program Operations position located at the Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) Tucson, AZ site. The Program Operations person will collaborate with the Program and be the liaison to the Strategic Make Centers making sure that all program needs are integrated and supported meeting all program commitments. Results will be accomplished through leading and influencing senior level individual contributors or middle management, leading briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives and being held accountable for the multiple areas associated with the program.

The successful candidate will report to the Product Line Leader of Operations in Tucson, AZ. This role is the primary interface between the Program Office Leadership, functional program leadership, and the factory leadership for all of the Strategic Make Centers. This role will assist in strategic Program/Operations planning for current production performance and future Program spiral development efforts. Support OPSEC plan(s) execution as well as influence future security strategies. Communicate across programs, as necessary, to identify, assess, collaborate and resolve issues with contractual deliveries and program requirements. The Program Operations role will be tasked to define clear operational schedules, priorities and goals for each Strategic Make Center. This person will lead, collaborate and influence the factory and functional managers to support the process focused factories driving quality and performance for program deliveries. This position is also accountable for factory integration, consolidated program performance, and unique program requirements flow down to the factories as well as contractual performance to our customer (MOCAS). This position will be the Operations point of contact for proposal development and approval to assure proposed costs or challenges are understood by Operations leadership and factories. Critical to the role will be to coordinate and develop operations requirements for all gate reviews and execute proposed strategies from early gate reviews for effective implementation in future production. A key responsibility is Ownership of the Program’s Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality EAC and budget. Prepare and present information for Monthly Management Reviews to summarize program status and any on-going production issues.

This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in technical, program and manufacturing leadership roles. The preferred candidate must be capable of working beyond the typical 40 hour work week, travel domestically and move between buildings and local facilities.

Required Skills:

  • 12 years of demonstrated successful experience to include working within a Manufacturing Business with greater than 500 employees or previous related military experience; preferred understanding of Lean Application
  • Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing tool sets in how they integrate for delivery of product through DD250
  • Previous knowledge and experience managing support plans, completing basis of estimates (BOEs), and maintaining schedule in cross-functional, matrixed environment
  • Experience in managing employee relation issues within varying levels of the Organization
  • Security clearance is required. Must have an existing or the ability to obtain a Department of Defense issue Secret security clearance.

  • Ability to lead collaboratively with other managers in a results oriented environment to develop solutions for complex problems that will gain desired outcomes
  • Previous leadership position in a fast paced technical or manufacturing environment that included multiple working organizations; this would include extensive experience building strong cross-functional teams with proven results
  • The confidence and courage to effectively lead, present, and participate in meetings and status sessions, even when having to provide bad news or when you disagree with other management and customers
  • Understanding of RMS product structures and product technical details
  • Problem solving abilities that bridge production realities to financial commitments
  • Knowledge of existing RMS execution Systems (PRISM)

Required Experience and Education:
Bachelors of Science in Science, Technology, Mathematics, or Engineering (STEM) required. Prefer degree or experience in Engineering/Manufacturing with 12 Years of experience with related Bachelor’s degree. Or 10 years of experience with related Master’s degree as minimum requirement.
