About the Position:
Work across the Gas Pipeline Safety Management function, managing key scheduling and analytics support services in order for Gas Operations and Learning & Development to make informed decisions, deliver on client requests, implement best practice and ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements for Operator Qualifications (OQs).
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Manage overall Operator Qualification Testing and Compliance Program:
Work with Our Academy to develop forecast for Operator Qualification testing requirements.
Engage with testing vendor and OQ database vendor to support testing requirements based upon forecasted needs.
Engage with key stakeholders in Gas Operations, Complex Construction, CMS, Our Academy, and Pipeline Safety Management teams so that Operator Qualification testing schedule meets the needs of client departments, and monitor performance and compliance with testing schedule.
Responsible for physical management of up to 7 OQ testing sites across NE, UNY, and DNY, supporting all operational, facilities, and security needs for each site.
Provide both written examination and performance evaluation services to the Gas Business that meet OQ testing requirements in as efficient a manner as possible.
Ensure data management and reporting are satisfactory to maintain 100% compliance with Operator Qualification requirements.
Work with the Gas Business to maintain an accurate and up-to-date Task to Title Matrix in order that all stakeholders are fully informed of Operator Qualification testing requirements.
Drive continuous improvement for the Operator Qualification testing program by monitoring course content, testing results, and successful qualifications, and reporting performance results to stakeholders.
Coordinate and manage vendor relationship (i.e., oversight of Operator Qualification test delivery, invoice payments, etc.) to ensure OQ Program maintains efficient operations.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders
Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within the Gas Pipeline Safety Management organization.
Manage the day to day relationship with Gas Operations to ensure adherence to standards and best outcomes for National Grid.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
Experience in managing a team to deliver excellent customer service and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.
Complex analytical skills in order to understand, analyze, and collate relevant information.
Knowledge of learning methods and understanding of best practices.
Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and procedures.
Knowledge of relevant industry and regulatory practices and legislation.
Understanding of project management techniques and methods.
Experience and proficiency in relevant company related IT systems.
Experience with Learning Management Systems and relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area and/or 4 - 5 years of equivalent work experience.
Strong analytical skills.
Proven ability to develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases, often complex in nature.
Ability to research, compile, coordinate, schedule, review, document, organize, verify data, conduct independent analysis and identify inconsistencies.
