Raytheon is in need of a mechanical engineer to support a very dynamic program in its’ facility in Sterling, Va. The successful candidate will have a broad range of experience to include data center design and maintenance, experience with HVAC cooling equipment. Experience with Solidworks and AutoCAD software is desired.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in data center design, calculations, and maintenance in small to large scale facilities;
  • Experience with HVAC and cooling such as Chillers, Computer Room Air Conditioners, In-Row coolers, Packaged A/C units, and Fan Coil units;
  • Experience integrating mechanical systems in new or existing facilities, to include cooling and capacity calculations to meet project requirements;
  • Knowledgeable in multiple disciplines: electrical, network, and/or computer engineering;
  • Experience in coordinating with on-site technicians both locally and remotely, to troubleshoot and test various pieces of equipment.
  • Experience in facility maintenance and design;
    • Ability to perform field startup and reoccurring maintenance on mechanical systems;
    • Verify preventative maintenance tasks and procedures to meet equipment specifications and requirements;
  • SCADA systems and device implementation to a building automation systems;
  • Must be willing to travel for short term intervals, both CONUS and OCONUS locations
  • Current TS/SCI with polygraph.
Desired Skills:
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software such as Future Facilities 6Sigma Room for system analysis and design
  • 2D and 3D CAD software to include AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Hands on Engineering and design experience with mechanical systems and the overall system integration/operation
  • In depth knowledge of HVAC systems (Chillers, Pumps, Heat Exchangers), and power distribution systems
  • Data center design and maintenance experience with multiple mechanical equipment certifications

Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or 5 plus years of equivalent field experience.
