Whether aloft in the skies aboard a fighter jet protecting the skies or an airborne surveillance platform monitoring developments on the ground, Raytheon’s Secure Sensor Solutions mission area is responsible for providing advanced capabilities for multiple types of tactical aircraft and other platforms. We provide the most advanced systems to navigate in challenging environments, and identify and discriminate friendly and foe objects. Part of Raytheon’s Space and Airborne Systems business, S3 provides capabilities that enable critical tasks---from target identification, aircraft navigation, and target engagement.
S3’s Airborne Early Warning and Reconnaissance Systems is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead a highly skilled, geographically diverse program team. This Program Manager position is responsible for the successful execution of an Advanced Sensor Program, which includes development, production, deployment and sustainment phases. This role will also be responsible for growing this business in adjacent markets. This PM is responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance on contract for the program. The PM will establish milestones, performance metrics, and evaluation controls to monitor adherence to program master plans and schedules. The PM will develop evaluation and control metrics and associated reports that accurately measure progress and identify risk elements in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken, to ensure Raytheon meet's contract commitments. This role involves managing diverse teams, direct engagement with the government customer program office, and engagement with Raytheon senior leadership. This PM will also have profit and loss (P&L) and AOP accountability for the program, and will be a key contributor to overall portfolio growth.


Required Skills:

  • Minimum 12 years relevant experience
  • Successful and proven program management experience collaborating with multi-functional, cross-discipline teams, working groups, and inter business unit collaborative efforts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate program status, issues and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including Raytheon senior management, customers and major subcontractors.
  • Experience in HW and SW development, Production, and Sustainment.
  • Proven leadership in proposal generation, contract negotiation and Gate execution. Experience with business and project management tools and procedures (e.g. IPDS, EVMS, IMP/IMS, Risk Management, Financial Forecasts and EAC).
  • Effective leader, communicator and decision maker
  • Ability to build strong customer relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with matrixed organization to ensure the program is properly staffed at all phases of the program with personnel that have the right skill sets and RTN values.
  • Ability to obtain Program Management Certification, in accordance with RP-248
  • Experience in providing leadership of geographically dispersed teams
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.

Desired Skills:
  • Experience managing defense development or acquisition programs.
  • Demonstrated experience articulating customer positions, status, and strategies to senior management
  • Experience transitioning programs from development into production
  • Demonstrated success working in a teaming environment with customers.
  • A strong working knowledge of Electro Optical Systems, Radar systems or ISR technology is a plus.
