OVERVIEW

Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) has a new, exciting opportunity located in our Tucson, AZ office for a proven, high-performing Paralegal to serve as a member of the Office of the General Counsel. The Paralegal will work closely with a team of attorneys on RMS litigation, ethics, transactional and corporate governance matters.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES
Under the guidance of members of the RMS Office of General Counsel (including attorneys and the Director of Ethics & Business Conduct), the Paralegal will regularly assist with litigation and other disputes, government investigations, ethics matters (investigations and employee guidance) as well as internal and external requests for information.
The Paralegal will conduct witness interviews for ethics matters, conduct factual and company policy research, as well as organize and analyze various documents, including contracts, pleadings, spreadsheets and other compilations of data.
The Paralegal will assist employees with the preparation of Business Courtesy Approval Requests (“BCARS”) and various conflict of interest forms as well as process said forms. In addition, the Paralegal will assist with the opening, maintenance, closing and tracking of ethics matters.
The Paralegal will support RMS’s legal hold and e-discovery processes, including efficient and strategic preservation, collection, organization, coding and production of data, documents, and assets. The Paralegal will create document retention and destruction logs, arrange for document destruction and participate in RMS records management meetings.
The Paralegal will assist the General Counsel and other attorneys with budgeting, upload invoices to Legal Tracker as well as monitor approval and payment of invoices.
The Paralegal will assist with corporate governance by managing the RMS entity database, processing powers of attorney, apostilles and change in officers, as well as other matters required to keep RMS entities current.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Law, Applied Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies or equivalent;
  • Paralegal certificate in addition to or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree;
  • At least two years of in-house legal, law firm, or other applicable experience;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a proactive and well-organized manner;
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities;
  • Ability to present data clearly and succinctly;
  • Ability to lead or support multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously and efficiently in a team environment using sound judgment and meticulous attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft tools (including Outlook, Sharepoint, Skype, OneNote, and Excel), Legal Tracker;
  • Ability to quickly master Raytheon-specific tools and databases (including Raytheon Ethics, Finance and Accounting tools, Legal Compass, shared data sites and various Raytheon Program applications and shared drives);
  • Demonstrated proficiency with legal research and court docketing tools, such as Westlaw, Lexis, BNA, Courtlink, and PACER;
  • Ability to analyze data, identify key documents, spot trends, and investigate leads under the guidance of counsel;
  • High level of professionalism and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally when needed; and,
  • This position requires the ability to have a security clearance.
