Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In support of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) Systems Simulation, Software and Integration Directorate (S3I), SAIC develops and integrates advanced technologies during the entire life cycle of fielded Army aviation and missile systems.

 

Representative examples include air and ballistic missile defense, fire support, close combat, manned and unmanned aviation, command, control and communications; interoperability, intelligence/surveillance, and automatic test equipment. SAIC has an opening for an Electrical Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

  • An Electrical / SW Test Engineer is needed as part of a team providing hardware and software development solutions to the AMRDEC S3I Group. Activities will include the development of special purpose electronic assemblies. 

 

Duties:

  • Support Test Development and Test Execution Efforts
  • Specify and design automatic test equipment.
  • Support Test Development and Test Execution Efforts

  • Apply knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Embedded microcontroller hardware/firmware design and development
    • Analog & Digital electronics design
    • Analog design for data acquisition systems
    • Signal Conditioning Design
  • Perform initial checkout and debug of prototype printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies.

  • Support generation of documentation for a Technical Data Package (TDP) associated with the design, development, unit test, and integration of hardware/firmware components.

  • PXI, LXI & GPIB Instrumentation

  • Windows & Real-Time Instrumentation

  • Test Plan & Test Procedure Development

  • Technical Writing

  • LabVIEW Development Experience a plus

 

Qualifications

Apply knowledge and practical experience in one or more of the following areas: 

Education/Experience: 

  • BS or MS in Electrical / Computer Engineering from an accredited university. 
  • Must already have or be able to obtain a SECRET clearance prior to first day of employment. 
  • Current SECRET clearance preferred.
