Job Description:

- Applies in-depth knowledge and understanding of Flight Procedures, researches technical and documentation requirements to produce guidance materials for the purpose of communicating highly complex and technical aviation materials to a wide ranging audience and in numerous forms of written and electronic media.

- Collaborates with diverse skill sets to translate complex operational NAS concepts in easily understandable documents.

- Analyzes existing and potential content to identify reuse and evaluate observations to produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.

- The Sr. Technical Writer applies in-depth knowledge and understanding of Flight Procedures, researches technical and documentation requirements to produce guidance materials for the purpose of communicating highly complex and technical aviation materials to a wide ranging audience and in numerous forms of written and electronic media.

Specific support to AFS-200, Air Transportation Division, includes:

- Provides a full range of editorial and technical writing support for revisions and proposed changes to regulatory, policy, and guidance materials for issues associated with air carrier operations;

- Provides support with the tracking and control of regulatory, policy, and guidance documents throughout the drafting, coordination, and publication process;

- Provides technical, analytical and research support for the evaluation, revision and development of policies, standard, criteria, operations procedures, safety analysis, regulations and statutes related to pilot flight, duty, and rest.

Qualifications:
Job Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of experience performing the foregoing technical writing functions.

- At least 2 years of the individual’s foregoing total experience must have consisted of performing technical writing functions with respect to aviation or related disciplines.

- Bachelor’s Degree may be waived with 10 years of experience in performing the above duties
