Job Summary
Supervises daily activities of the assigned Information Technology (IT) areas of operations and related peripherals/ software for DI or assigned customer to ensure efficiencies in compliance with corporate, government, contractual and legal requirements.
Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and other practices set forth by upper management or contract requirements.
  • Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation for network/software systems of moderate complexity.
  • Assists with training requirements and budgets for assigned area of IT operations.
  • Serves as IT subject matter expert for the assigned area of IT operations.
  • Provides effective control on inventory of computers and peripherals or software based on schedule and budgets for assigned area of IT operations.
  • Responsible for the security of network systems or software applications assigned to the contract or corporate policies.
  • Oversees remote connectivity and frame relay interfaces.
  • Provides guidance and information of assigned section for network/software application, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Provides product specifications and vendor analysis for computer purchases.
  • May supervisor lower level staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of network operating systems or specified software.
  • In-depth knowledge of data communications, traffic and/or software applications within area of IT operations.
  • Knowledge of network equipment and operations or designed applications within area of IT operations.
  • Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline.  Two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college.
  • Seven (7) years of experience working with information systems.  Two (2) years of experience in supervisory role.
  • Novell Certified Engineer (NCE), Microsoft Systems Engineer certification or certification database administration preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Work is in normal office environment.
