This is an opportunity within Advanced Missile Systems (AMS) Product Line Contracts department. The Advanced Missile Systems (AMS) Product Line is the growth engine for Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) and represents a diverse portfolio of contracts and customers in the developmental life cycle of USG Department of Defense (DoD) programs. Specifically, the AMS Product Line is responsible for the strategic capture and execution of developmental efforts that aim to augment or replace existing systems, and in some cases fulfill new mission areas, across all branches of the USG DoD.

Job Description: The successful applicant will be responsible for the capture and management of contracts, inclusive of Special Access Programs (SAP), within the dynamic and diverse portfolio of the Advanced Missile Systems (AMS) family of products. Duties include leading Request for Proposal (RFP) analysis, working on a relatively small team to develop capture and proposal strategies for competitive and sole source pursuits, coordination of proposal development, establishing teaming agreements with potential partners, contract negotiations and general contract administration. The successful candidate will work relatively independently in a SAP environment, and be the primary internal and external customer interface for business and contracting matters.
They will use their collaborative, independent thinking skills to assist the program leads in formulating and executing business strategies to reduce risk, enhance customer satisfaction, and support the generation of additional or new business opportunities. They shall provide governance to the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract and overall contract management in accordance with Company policies and legal requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 8 years experience with contracts, subcontracts, legal or similar business field
  • Defense industry experience, space experience, or experience in companies that bring technology products to market in a heavily regulated industry.
  • Significant knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and the Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR), and an understanding of the ITAR.
  • Experience with US government customers in the acquisition and user communities.
  • Significant negotiation experience, with the ability to lead teams in negotiation strategy and preparation
  • Contract knowledge to provide business council to management and leadership during all phases of the program life cycle to include front-end capture, proposal, negotiation, award, contracts execution, and close out.
  • Demonstrated success working within a matrix organizational environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork and trust
  • Ability to communicate directly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with key decision-makers
  • Focus on responsiveness with strong time management to handle multi-tasking and several assignments
  • Working knowledge of EX/IM regulations and corresponding company policies.
  • Existing US Security clearance at a minimum of a Secret level (Top Secret preferred)

  • Experience with other contract vehicles, Other Transaction Agreements, Collaborative Agreements, and competitive pursuits

Required Education:
  • B.S./B.A. Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, Contract Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Law or related field
