General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has an opportunity for a Test Engineer with subject matter expertise to design and develop documentation for Section 508 Accessibility Reviews for products, systems, software and/or related components with an emphasis on reviewing documents for Section 508 Accessibility.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Analyze documents for WCAG 2.0 compliance, including PDF, Word, Excel and PPT
Remediate documents for WCAG 2.0 compliance
Perform technical editing and quality control of documents written by other authors
Perform WCAG 2.0 compliance and accessibility testing using Assistive Technology (AT), such as Job Access with Speech (JAWS)
Provides assistance in functional and system testing as necessary.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
2-5 years of related experience in testing, engineering or quality assurance.
Solid analytical and problem solving skills with ability to assess compliance requirements
Excellent computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Access, Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat
Experience using the JAWS screen reader and one or more of the following: NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, Dragon Naturally Speaking, ZoomText
Experience assessing WCAG 2.0 AA conformance in Web, mobile and/or software applications
Ability to analyze code (e.g.., HTML, ARIA, JS, CSS) to identify accessibility issues in Web applications
Ability to maintain own work flow and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail, alertness and precision is necessary in this position
Ability to respond positively and act with a sense of urgency to challenging work and deadlines
High-level of effective interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Knowledge of testing concepts and formal verification and validation strategies a plus.
