Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems is searching for a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) for Software Development to assist in leading the Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 2 (EED-2) team. The DPM will be a key member of this team that supports NASA in its mission to provide scientists and other users access to data from NASA’s Earth science missions, including satellite, aircraft, and field measurement data. The Earth Science Data Information System (ESDIS) Office at the Goddard Space Flight Center is the direct customer.
The DPM will provide operational guidance, strategic readiness and cross-organizational communications. In this role, the DPM will be accountable for the planning, execution and ultimately the achievement of successful systems development across three SAFe release trains. The DPM will oversee the entire membership of each release train, which includes not only direct reports in the form of SAFe release train leads on the program, but also supervisors and managers as well as non-EED-2 contractors. The DPM will be required to use influencing skills to lead those members of release train leadership who are not on the EED-2 program, as the DPM will have no contractual authority over these members.
The DPM will also be the subject matter expert available to the customer to help them use Raytheon’s processes, systems and products to address new capabilities using IDPS and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). As such, the DPM will gather detailed information, perform analyses, and identify risks and present innovative approaches to the Program Manager and the customer. The DPM will be responsible for influencing stakeholders across EOSDIS, showing them the value of using the SAFe approach and EED-2 team to meet their business needs. The DPM will have daily correspondence with ESDIS at the various levels of task monitoring, architecture, operations, and finance.
