Job Description:
The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) organization is seeking motivated, technically inclined summer interns passionate about creating innovative and cost-effective Systems Engineering solutions. As a technical member of the RF Systems Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V) team, the candidate will implement systems engineering principles, methods, processes and tools on complex RF systems to verify and validate systems level requirements.

This highly dynamic environment requires both speed and efficiency in addition to maintaining product quality, functionality and traceability. Applicants are expected to be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and individual contributors on the program team through strong written and verbal communication skills.

The Systems Engineering intern will frequently work with a diverse group of software engineers, systems engineers and RF subject matter experts and must be comfortable either working independently or as part of an integrated development team. Under the oversight of Integration & Test (I&T) Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership and functional management, applicants will have the opportunity to lead small groups in systems level integration testing and requirements verification.


  • Support integration and test activities during the system design, development, integration, test, and flight test phases of the program
  • Develop novel solutions for testing and verification of radar system requirements through the use of systems engineering best practices
  • Develop and executing system test procedures for verification of tactical and/or strategic radar system requirements in a laboratory environment
  • Analyze system requirements, decompose requirements to software subsystems, and define testing criteria of the requirements at the software and system level
  • Works with the Mode Development team to develop models and simulations to predict mode performance in flight test
  • Process flight test data and compares to predicted results from the model
  • Deliver and present work artifacts to IPT Lead and Program Office representatives

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05 or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2019) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2019) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2019) - must have an undergraduate degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel and Project
  • Must have the ability to travel among local Raytheon facilities and to travel on business
  • Must be a college Junior, Senior or Graduate student by Fall 2019
  • Must be able to obtain an interim Secret security clearance PRIOR to starting
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
  • This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
  • Advanced coursework in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or other related technical field.

Required Education (including major): Currently pursuing a BS / BA degree from an accredited four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior year OR pursuing a MS / MA / PhD by Fall 2019. Must be working towards a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
