Summary of Role:
Raytheon Systems Ltd (RSL) are looking for a senior mechanical engineer to support various programmes across the business, both in its Weapons and Global Sensors mission areas.
The role will be based at Raytheon’s Harlow facility and the successful applicant will report directly to the Head of Engineering (Weapons). The successful candidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of Raytheon UK, delivering engineering expertise across a wide range of projects to both military and civil customers worldwide.
This role is ideally suited to an engineer with some experience of aerospace systems.
The successful applicant will support the Weapons Team across various programmes and will involve the following main duties:
•Undertake stress analysis
•Undertake thermal analysis
•Preparation of Structural Reports in support of Airworthiness Certification
•Prepare drawings in CAD
•Provide mechanical support to RSL product Design Authorities
.Degree or HND/ HNC in mechanical /aerospace engineering
•Experience in FE and hand stress analysis calculations (both static and dynamic). PTC Cero Mechanica or Ansys preferred
•Experience in FE and hand thermal analysis calculations on electronic equipment PTC Cero Mechanica or Ansys preferred.
•Experience in supporting Structural Airworthiness Certification.
•5 years minimum experience Design /Drawing in CAD (PTC Cero).
•Minimum of 10 years in mechanical engineering analysis and design environment.
•Flexible, self-motivated and ability to multi-task.
•Willing and able to travel throughout UK and USA /overseas
•Support in the development of estimates for future opportunities
•Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance
